There are some very important reasons that I, with the full faith and support from the
good people of the Patriot’s Voice, have started this endeavor. Those reasons are the children you see everyday
in your neighborhood. I have been working with at risk youth for over 14 years, both as a Pa. Dept of Public Welfare employee
and a church youth group leader. What I see and hear at times shakes me to the core of my soul.
I believe our society
has moved to a post-Christian stage. We no longer view children as being sexually off-limits. There is no behavior too crass
or obscene for them. This has led to a sexualization of children which I believe child molesters feed off of. People might
argue that sexual abuse has always happened, and that we just didn’t speak about it openly years ago. This may be partially
true. But I am old enough to remember a time when kids were not bombarded with sexuality from TV, music, and video games.
I remember not too long ago when a teacher sleeping with their student was a rare occurrence. I remember when kids as young
as eight years old weren’t approached in their classrooms about their sexuality in the name of tolerance (part of the
radical gay agenda.) I remember when the only part to being a kid was having fun within moral boundaries set for our protection,
and puberty brought on questions of who we would date for social status. Now the topic of conversation with many teenagers
revolves around what venereal diseases they are at risks for and who’s having a baby in ninth grade. We are seeing our
children’s innocence stolen away right before our eyes.
I also believe that we as adults are responsible
for the world children have to live in. While I believe a serious lack of Christian morals is the cause of what we see today,
I know I don’t stand alone in what I believe. That is why I wanted to ask for your help. We can expose the most egregious
examples of adults sexualizing our children for malignant reasons. I believe we do this not only by shedding public light
on potential or real molesters, but also any adult in a position of authority who shows no respect for the Christian values
we want to teach our children. People who for immoral, political, or other motives want to use their authority to sexualize
children. They plant the idea in their minds that they are not human beings with a soul and an intrinsic value before God, but
rather fit for nothing more than a simple sexual function-like an animal. In reality, this is what child molesters do when
they selfishly use children for their own pleasure. Oftentimes these children are exposed to venereal disease since at young
ages they aren’t at risk for pregnancy and there is little need for protection being used. This in addition to the irreparable
harm that is done to their psyche and their trust in other adults. I believe this corse and ungodly culture constantly stresses
the raw sexualization of the human being. This does much damage to a child’s perception of themselves when they have
been abused by a family member or a family friend and are trying to personally deal with the effects of this abuse. I
also believe child molesters are encouraged in what they (sickly) believe is right by all of this. We simply didn’t
wake up one day to find ourselves awash in child molesters. It is a change that has happened over time, and by God’s
grace good people who stand up to be counted will change it back. This Innocence Project started about 2007 and is not associated with getting people out of jail. It
is intended on protecting the innocence of children from the vulgar and un-Christian people in our society who pose a moral
danger to them. There is a woman I read about in People magazine named Judy Cornett from Tampa, Florida.
In 1992, her son Jason Cornett was raped by a depraved indivdual named Kevin Kinder. After being paroled from a seventeen
year seventeen sentence, (which, it turns, out there were more victims), he was tracked down by Judy and eventually
sentenced to sixty years for violating parole. Judy was worked tirelessly to put other paroled child rapists behind bars by
basically tracking them down and finding them violating parole, then reporting it to the authorities. Judy did not lay
down against a society which kicked her in the teeth because of its increasing apathy due to the loss of Chrisitan values.
This project is dedicated to her, her son Jason, and the untold numbers of survivors affected by these crimes in our
