Out of control spending, higher taxes, deepening government
intrusion, political correctness, assaults on family values, government control of education, government expansion against
private property rights, personal privacy rights, Tenth Amendment rights of the states, 2nd Amendment rights, corruption,
graft, healthcare, jobs, bailouts, and the list seems to be never ending!
Let me
ask you, “Is this our country anymore?” This sure isn’t the America I remember growing up in. In the 60’s
we went through tumultuous times with the Cuban Missile crisis, the Viet Nam War, the Sexual Revolution, hippies, drugs and
a whole list of social ills, but the government was still pretty much in control by the people and we pulled our country back
from the brink.
Since that time, the Progressive’s have infiltrated into the very fabric
of what America was and has through incremental changes. They assaulted the very limits of government,
distorted the truth of our founding documents and our founders, removed God from our schools, and cheapened the very God given
rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Through the progressive dummying down of our children
through education, the succeeding generation stands on the brink of not only relinquishing the national identity and it’s
sovereignty, but will be handed, for the first time in it’s history, a regressive lifestyle with insurmountable debt
and a very bleak future.
There are rays of hope, as millions of Americans are awakening to the fact
that the national, state and local governments have become corrupt, out of control, and are spending beyond sustainable means.
We have begun to bring our voices out to protest with Tea Parties and Town Hall meetings and we are telling the government
that enough is enough!
In late December of 2009, a young man asked me to help him plan an event.
He reserved the Band Shell in the Bloomsburg Town Park for the April 10, 2010. He had some good ideas and
as we discussed things, we found we agreed on most of the issues. We agreed that the Tea Party movement was an important tool
for the people to voice their feelings towards their government.
Then we added a new dimension
to our event thanks to the GOP endorsement of candidates before the primaries. In doing so, they said we aren’t smart
enough to choose our party's candidate and if they wanted us to have an opinion, they would give it to us. So, we decided
to call the event the “Liber-Tea Party”. We also decided to invite unendorsed candidates running on Constitutional
Principles to attend.
We have booked the following speakers: Sam Rohrer, candidate for Governor
of PA; Peg Luksik, candidate for US Senate; Jake Towne and David Maderia, candidates
for PA House of Representatives; Russ Diamond, candidate for LT Governor of PA; Lou Barletta, candidate for US House of Representatives;
Frank Scavo, candidate for PA Senate; David Baldinger, PCTA spokesman; Victor Schleich, Young Conservative American; Michael
Harrison, in character as Patrick Henry; Debra J.M. Smith, Conservative Author; June McWilliams, Re-Patriot Radio; William
Reil; Bruce Bellott, Nashville, Tennessee recording artist will perform. Also in attendance will be Karen
Boback, Candidate for PA House of Representatives and the Bloomsburg University Young Americans for Liberty.
On April 10th, 2010 from Noon until 5 PM, we will meet to talk, to hear and to plan. Bring
your signs, your chairs and your voices, as this party is about renewing Pennsylvania!
